The VA P400/1000 V2 is, as the name suggests, version 2 of the already excellent P400/1000. Distortion in version 2 is even lower with the newer NCx500 module. Unlike other NCx500-based amplifiers, Vera Audio bypasses the internal buffer of the NCx500 modules and uses its own in-house developed buffer, which provides even lower distortion and noise.
The amplifier can be bridged with over 1000W in 8 Ohm.
Finish: Black or silver, brushed aluminium
- Based on Ncore NCx500 modules
- Powerful power supply of a full 3kW
- Stable to 2 Ohm (with less power)
- Extremely low distortion
- Very low noise level and high CMRR, making it work excellently even with horn speakers and other high-sensitivity speakers
- Gain adjustment on both channels making it easy to match different preamps/DACs or to use in active speakers with one amplifier per driver
- Trigger input
- Brushed aluminium chassis milled from one block without visible seams or screws
- Rubber feet with trim ring
- High build quality with temperature-controlled fans that only kick in at high temperatures at a low decibel level to ensure a long lifespan
- Based on Ncore NCx500 modules. Compatible with 230V and 120V.
- Power supply: 3kW
- Stable to 2 Ohm (with less power)
- Bridgeable with more than 1000W at 8 Ohm

1. My source only has RCA outputs. What RCA to XLR cables should I use?
The RCA to male-XLR cable should be made according to this:
Unfortunately, many sellers of cables do not understand this, so it is important that you check this yourself and ask the cable manufacturer if you are uncertain. This cable uses the standard pinout with pins 1 and 3 of the XLR connector wired to the shield of the RCA plug and pin 2 of the XLR connector wired to the tip of the RCA plug.
2. What does the gain setting do?
The gain setting is used to optimize the noise level, adjust to the output voltage of the sources, or used in an active speaker system to match the level between drivers/speakers. Lowering the gain on the power amplifier will always result in less hiss in the speakers and lower the noise floor. With today's distortion free high output from many sources a lower gain setting than the industry standard is often a better option.
3. Can the gain control be used while the amplifier is operating?
Yes, it is completely safe to use the gain switch simultaneously when the amplifier is passing through a signal.
